Mesophyll Fibres in Eucalyptus L'Hérit. and Angophora Cav

STELLA G. M. CARR, D. J. CARR and LYDIA MILKOVITS

Research School of Biological Sciences Australian National University Canberra, Australia

Received: 6 April 1970

The presence of mesophyll fibres in all Angophora spp. and certain species of Eucalyptus is reported. These structures are otherwise apparently rare in Myrtaceae. With few exceptions the species of Eucalyptus with mesophyll fibres all belong in a well-defined segment of the series Corymbosae.
