Pollination timing may enhance apomictic reproduction in Paspalum notatum

Normal cross pollination at the time of anthesis expressed the highest potential for sexuality in a facultative apomictic strain of bahiagrass. Espinoza et al. (pp. 165-170) find that crosses achieved prior to anthesis, or delayed pollination, enhanced the production of maternal genotypes in the progenies by means of apomixis.
