Screening lupins for tolerance to calcareous soils
A major constraint to lupin cultivation is their intolerance of calcareous soils and a lack of an effective tolerance screen. Kerley et al. (pp. 341-349) show that tolerance could be attributed to the partitioning of iron and calcium fractions throughout the shoot. These responses could be used as the basis of a nutritional screen.
