Cover illustration: The inset cover image shows a bumble-bee probing a flower of Mimulus ringens. Adjacent flowers on floral displays in this species often vary markedly in selfing rate, which is the result of increased deposition of geitonogamous self pollen as bees probe consecutive flowers on each floral display.
