About the Cover

Cover Figure

Cover illustration: Fish-eye view of a tropical forest canopy near Panama City, Panama, taken from a tower crane 42 m above ground. The crane allows repeated non-destructive measurements of light extinction at various heights within the crown of individual trees. Light extinction coefficients are found to differ among species in relation to shoot architecture, leaf traits and successional status. See Kitajima et al. (pp. 535-547).
