Cover illustration: The inset cover photograph shows a walnut leaf sprayed ith a kaolin particle film and its impact on leaf temperature being recorded with an infrared thermometer. Despite decreasing the fraction of the light incident on the leaf that is absorbed, light distribution through the canopy was positively affected thereby improving overall photosynthesis.
