About the Cover

Cover Figure

Cover illustration: The inset figure shows auxin fluxes in the root tip of wild-type (WT) and trh1 (tiny root hair 1) plants. In WT seedlings, the TRH1 carrier is involved in auxin transport through the root cap. Due to a mutation in the carrier, auxin transport through the root cap of trh1 plants is partially blocked. Suboptimal auxin concentrations in cortical and epidermal tissues of the trh1 mutant lead to agravitropic root growth and impaired root hair elongation (derived from an illustration in Vicente-Agullo et al., 2004, The Plant Journal 40: 523-535. See Grabov, pp. 1035-1041.
